* UPDATE: Event renamed to ‘Talking Streets’
Super excited about this upcoming exhibition as it is probably one of the ultimate collaborations of African-influenced street painters. Each of the artists’ diverse portfolios is rooted within our soil; ‘Africanism’ is a constant theme.
This amalgamation of graffiti artists and illustrators will hopefully produce an urban contemporary visual tale never seen before.
‘STREET TALK’ is an upcoming exhibition at HAZARD Gallery in Maboneng with curator, graffiti and multidisciplinary visual artist, Breeze Yoko. The show explores visual culture on the street while boldly leaping forward into the future to represent a changing South Africa and its social dynamics through graffiti and street art. We showcase and celebrate Africa and its diverse rich culture and styles through a print show by leading graffiti, print and graphic artists.
HAZARD is a contemporary art, fashion, lifestyle and entertainment brand that encompasses an art gallery and vibrant cultural platform in the heart of Johannesburg – Africa’s most cosmopolitan city.
The GROUP EXHIBITION is a unique show featuring the work of a legendary collective of underground graffiti, street artists, illustrators and print makers, who have been active in the field and have helped define the genre in this country.
