Pastelheart stands next to one of his final works. Portrait by Polizei.
Tragedy echoed through South Africa’s graffiti scene with news of the passing of Pastelheart last week.
The young Durban-based graffiti artist, fashion designer and all-round nice guy was one of the most talented artists to roam these streets. His vivid, wild at heart and loveable personality will be sorely missed. Many have shared how he touched their hearts, as well as the admiration they have for how he kissed the walls of the city.
Pastelheart’s stylish depictions of girls in all shapes, colours and sizes was truly unique. The lips in all their slimy glory, spray painted across the country and even in New Orleans and New York City.
