A look into the ever-evolving graffiti scene in Cape Town that focuses on the city’s elusive graffiti writers and how the scene has been affected by recent by-laws passed by the City of Cape Town. Painting Cape Town gets into the minds of the men behind the names that they take on, exploring the relationship between the city and the artists. Established figures within the subculture such as Falko and Wealz130 share their experiences of the consuming passion to paint the surfaces of the city.

NEWS \\ BoaMistura book and film screening

The Spanish art collective, Boa Mistura (meaning ‘Good Mixture’) have released a book documenting their time spent in Cape Town last year. They were only here for one month as part of the /A Word Of Art artist residency, but this did not stop the five men; Arkoh, Derko, Pahg, Purone and Rdick from doing anything half-hearted.

We’re not sure if the book is going to be available for purchase, but we do know that there will be a local screening of their Cape Town film, Diamond Inside, in the near future.
